Jim Joseph - button accordion, fiddle, vocals

‚Ä®Jim hails from Phippsburg, Maine, and is the co-founder of JimmyJo & The Jumbol'Ayuhs. Jim is the driving force behind the Jumbol'ayuhs, which he started with Pam in 1999.  He is in three other bands (in which he also plays banjo, ukelele, and percussion): T-Acadie , Scrod Pudding, and French Roast.  By day, Jim is caretaker of Bates Morse Mountain Conservation Area and owns Center Pond Maple Works.

Pam Weeks - fiddle, vocals

Pam is well-known as a solo Appalachian dulcimer player and singer as well as for her work with T-Acadie and Scrod Pudding. She has several recordings, including Waiting for the Perseids, from which her original music has been used as background music for two historical documentaries shown repeatedly on PBS. Solo or in ensemble, Pam performs around the country, works in school residencies, and teaches all strings, flute, clarinet, sax, piano, and voice at her home in Bowdoin as well as in studios in Turner and Bath, Maine. www.pamweeks.com.

 

Bill Olson - guitar, vocals

Bill, is the Jumbol'Ayuhs' guitar player. Bill came to Cajun music from the traditional dance music and contradance scene. Bill has been playing guitar for 57 years, dancing for 40, playing upright bass for 25 and calling dances for 30 years. He has been singing all his life! Bill has been playing and singing in the folk trio T-Acadie with Pam and Jim for about 25 years now. When Jim and Pam came back from Augusta Heritage Center "Cajun Week" in West Virginia several years ago and wanted to start Maine's first Cajun dance band he was a little skeptical, but after a trip to southwest Louisiana he "got it", joined the band and has never regretted it. Bill has become one of Maine's premier contradance callers and calls for dances and festivals throughout the United States. As a contradance choreographer, his compositions have been called all over the world. 

Elna Joseph - bass, vocals

Elna is married to our accordion player, Jim. She has been playing with the band since its inception. She also plays guitar, and enjoys sharing the joy of music with children and families at Head Start, where she is the Mental Health Consultant. Elna and Jim occasionally play as a duo at community events. She recently joined the local rock band Cilantro, exploring more aspects of bass guitar.

Keith Garovoy - percussion, vocals

Kit, from Bath, (the band's drummer) attended the Hart School of Music studying percussion, and taught percussion in Connecticut and Maine for many years. Kit plays the Irish drum (bodhran) and many other unusual percussion instruments. Kit also tours with Jesse Lege and Bayou Brew and has toured with the Savoy Family Band and with Joel Savoy and Jesse Lege. After music, Kit is involved with local non profits.
